Customer Reviewsfrom Louisville, KY February 18, 2008 Music Background: Former rocker who now plays blended worship at church Great livingroom/personal ampI bought a B30 (which seems to be the exact same amp with a couple cosmetic changes). I has plenty of power for what it's designed for and sounds good. It has really good bass and very clear highs if treble it boosted. This has more clearness and midrange than the 20 watt version. Is it loud enough to play in a live rock setting? No--it's not designed for that. It can be used in some live setting if the volumes are not too loud. With the line out if you have PA you could simply us it as a monitor. I played a few other brands but liked the Hartke. I really liked the 3 yr warranty! This thing is built like a tank! It's perfect for what I wanted--sitting in the living room and playing while watching TV, or playing along with the wife when she plays piano or keyboard. Are there better amps? Likely but nowhere near what these go for. Great value! from Pittsburgh March 6, 2008 Music Background: Musician of 12 years. Also, musical instrument collector. Hartke B300I bought the B300 brand new about 4 months ago. First off, it can take a beating with no problem. I take it everywhere. It sounds pretty decent. Not much thump or low-end though. I think Hartke designed this amp so you have to buy their preamp to make it sound decent. You can't turn the volume up past 7 or the speaker gets distorted. Too many watts for a 10" speaker. Overall, it's not a bad amp. It was worth the $170.from Pittsburgh, Pa January 27, 2008 Music Background: Pro Musician, Hobbyist Hartke B300 Bass ComboI bought this amp a few months ago from a local music store. I run a Fender P bass through it & overall, it is a pretty good amp. I would have liked a wider range of EQ, but for the money, it's deffinately worth it. Although, it lacks a little bit of those warm tones. Also, with the volume up (past 7 or 8), the speaker sounds distorted. I just can't get the perfect sound I need. I think a wise investment would be the 'VXL Bass Attack' preamp pedal. This should give you the sound you're missing.
