Evans Power Center Reverse Dot (14") ReviewsSweetwater Advice
Andrew Malloy
Years of playing on the famous coated white heads have made me come to appreciate what a great sound it is. What I found when I tried out the G1 with the Power Center is that I get that solid punch in the center without extra overtones that can drive mix engineers mad. When you start to play off center, you get that familiar ring and all of the tone your shell gives off for a bombastic tone perfect for that big brass snare sound.
Customer Reviewsfrom Washington, IL July 7, 2012Music Background: Musician [Guitars, Drums, & Keyboards] Finally found it!!!I have been looking for a batter head to compliment my Tama SLP 14" x 5.5" Steel Snare. I had previously tried the Evans ST, HD, and Genera Dry heads but they were all too dry for my taste. I also tried several Remo heads but couldn't get the feel and sound I was looking for. I recently bought the Power Center Reverse Dot and as soon as I got the head up to tune, I new this was the one. I use 1/4 piece of a moon gel right in the middle of the Evans logo, and I have the sound and feel that I have been looking for. My snare sounds incredible now!!!
