Customer Reviewsfrom April 4, 2012 Music Background: Musician AwesomeDoes exactly what I want it to do. We use it in the studio in conjunction with logic to lay down anything from synth to drum kits. Awesome product. 5/5from Pine Bluff, AR March 10, 2012 Music Background: Music Producer Love My Keyboard!!!My keyboard is fantastic I enjoy using it in my studio! Thanks Sweetwater!!from January 20, 2011 Great Durable KeyboardI’ve owned the Axiom 49 mk2 / version 2 for a few months now. I prefer the encoders on the new version because they are smooth. In the past they would click when rotated which kept me from buying the keyboard, but it feels more natural now with smooth encoders. The keyboard itself is well constructed, and sturdy. I like it because I can assign whatever value I want to the encoders to control the older pots on my hardware. This way I can save the life of older hardware by being rough on the axiom (and play how I want) without worrying. You can tell it’s designed with software in mind, and it works great in that respect too. After installing DirectLink it’s just plug and play. I like the action of the keys, but I would recommend visiting a local music store and testing it before deciding to buy it…some people have different preference in how the keys feel. I hate keys that are too tight and the ones on the Axiom feel just right. As far as cons, the keyboard doesn’t come with any accessories (except the USB cable). It’s USB powered, but it has the ability to use a power supply. This is not included, so if you use it only for midi out, you will still need to plug it in to USB unless you buy the power supply. It’s not a big deal because most home studios are going to have a computer. You have to turn off midi over USB to send midi data through cables, so a heads up on that (easy switch, explained in manual). Also, the “enter” key is on the far right of the keyboard if you’re looking for it while editing the patches. I also suggest checking out the .pdf manual before buying it, because there’s a lot of capability in this thing. from Springfield, OR April 4, 2012 Music Background: Student - Music Production A Great FitI purchased this as a replacement for a 25 key controller that went out. Great functionality and response, more buttons, knobs, wheels and pads than I really need at the moment, semi-weighted keys rock... I'm glad I found this bad-boy.from December 27, 2011 A terrific keyboard controllerThis is a great 41 key controller with just enough bells and whistles to meet the demands of an expanding home studio. The semi-weighted keys will feel just right to most pianists. My only complaint is that mapping for any DAW except those that are among the "direct link" pre-mapped ones is VERY tedious.
