Choosing the right high-end converter is rarely a matter of better or worse, simply a matter of preference. While buzzwords such as "transparent," "open," and "clean" get thrown around like a frisbee disc on a college campus, what you really want from your converter is to get out of it what you put in.

Lynx has always been my favorite for doing just that. While many converters add their own sonic character to your tracks, the Lynx Aurora 8 is by far one of the most natural sounding boxes in existence.

Lynx Raises the Bar

I do a lot of audio post work in a relatively small market, so I end up doing voice-overs one day, Foley and SFX the next. Then I do music as well. I wanted converters that where really clean with very high headroom and very low latency. I feel I made the right choice. The Aurora is incredibly transparent and the AES card is rock solid. High-end conversion is really the heart of a great DAW and Lynx is a great value in an arena filled with hype and hyperbole.
