Quality all the way!
by Ross Huntley from Noosa, Australia, October 2008
Music Background: Musician, Keen Hobbyist
I bought this card to plug in the balanced outputs from my Soundcraft Compact 4 mixer. The installation was painfree and it worked exactly as promised. The sound quality is truly exceptional with a very easy to understand control panel.
Under Sonar 7 PE I am running the ASIO driver at 256 samples without a hickup.
I tried for 3 months to get my Alesis iO14 to do this but it bombed terribly (BEWARE - very unstable drivers! And I'm far from the only one that has had major issues).
The Audiophile 192 is a great card that delivers all that is promised. This a product you can trust. Top job M-Audio!
Very Pro-Usable
by Lawrence The Cat from Allentown,Pa USA, January 2008
Music Background: Pro Musician
I use the 192 to record line-level keyboard tracks into Pro Tools M-powered, and it works flawlessly- long sessions included. In headphone and studio monitor situations, any noise is way below audible threshhold at 24 bit resolution. You will loose precious hearing at the level that it might be detectable. Generally, the software works seamlessly with Digi's software, and our project, the SecretSystemBand, is heading in the direction of 5.1 mixing...this configuration should allow me the luxury of easy upgrade- I'll be able to work (and monitor) my surround sequence modulations in the realm of pre-production. For sure, use this type of recording setup in an over-engineered modern computer. (they are dirt cheap these days!) A very professional device, just be aware of system settings and avoid clutter- you will be rewarded with clear, trouble free performance. Oh, and use paint markers or colored vinyl tape on the break-out plugs! (hint, hint)
Not one problem!

I use this card for dj applications, tried several other in it's price range & this one to my ears was the cleanest sounding. No problems installing, everything works & sounds great.
Great entry level balanced PCI interface
by Paulie from NJ, April 2007
Music Background: DJ Producer
I bought the 192 to replace the Delta 1010 that I put into my new DAW PC. I love that fact that the Delta control panel is so easy to use - nothing like the complicated mess (but certainly versatile) that E-mu uses for their PCI cards.
The audio quality is very good, regardless of price - I am using it to record from my home theater system and then transfer it to my main DAW for production use. The only thing I can bitch about is the lack of lightpipe (SPDIF or ADAT) optical I/O, but none of the delta series has that. I do like the fact it has both main & monitor outputs, most 2 channel cards don't include that - very handy.
Mine works great

I have a very powerful PC and I have no problems. I used to build custom sound systems and I have to tell you, the THD specs on this card are accurate.
M-Audio has acknowledged that this card has not performed well while in use with certain motherboards.
So yes, 50% of folks out there will not like this card. Do you self a favor, in sterad of throwing it away, call the support line on the M-audio site. They are more than happ to chat. Take it from me, I have used many sound cards in my day as well as solid state. This is a rock solid performer in the right enviornment.
M-Audio AP 192 - All That Glitters...
by Anonymous , February 2005
I really hate to agree with the previous reveiwer and I must but for different reasons. I think at the price point there's no better chioce, but the card was obviously rushed to market. The current driver operates much like a beta with intermittent drop outs and glitches. I don't use the ad/da (UA 2192), but even so the drivers have a way to go.
Give it 6 months and you'll be reading much better reveiws.
If anyone knows of a rock solid 24/192 card for the pc, I'd like to know about it.
Audiophile 192 works.
by Anderson from CA, February 2005
Half-Life2 would not run on my system, microwaved the Audigy2, then installed the Audiophile 192 in its place.
The Game runs fine now, and I have balanced outputs.
I liked how the driver installed before the card was in.
The 192 and driver seems to be playing music and games better than the toasted one.
With no internal inputs or surround I still enjoy the card.
You may need glasses to see the embossed designations on the connectors.
I have not recorded with the 192, problems in that area may exist.
