First, there's AC101. It plays the part of a high-end digital preamp, giving you a lot of room for even excessive amounts of gain, without that digital distortion. You can use the Drive control to decide where the audio should "sit" in the saturation/compression region, and you can even adjust the Attack and Release times of the distortion character. Nice.

Next up is AC202, which virtually takes your sound on a pass through an analog tape machine. It features parameters you'd expect, including Bias, Playback Speed, and IEC1/2 equalization. Yet, in true-to-McDSP fashion, it also lets you do things that tape machines never could do, including offering adjustable low-frequency roll-off and head bump, independent of playback speed. What's cool too is that you can choose several playback head types, tape formulations, and even control the tape-saturation recover time.
