  • Solid Sitka spruce top gives your guitar a unique sonic signature
  • Artwood: hi-quality tonewoods and amazing value

Effortlessly switch between acoustic and electric
The Ibanez AW50ECENT Artwood Acoustic Electric Guitar lets you easily switch from acoustic to electric, and back again. Loaded with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez's SST Shape Shifter preamp, you'll appreciate how these effortless transitions make live gigs and studio work a breeze.

Solid Sitka spruce top gives your guitar punch and projection
Ibanez has selected solid Sitka spruce for the AW50ECENT's topwood. With its characteristic broad and strong overtones, Sitka spruce is the classic topwood choice for big-bodied dreadnoughts. The wood's stiffness, combined with its relatively light weight, is a recipe for high-velocity output. Sitka's healthy fundamental-to-overtone ratio gives you powerful projection and punch that holds its own when you're digging in and playing with gusto. This means you get greater dynamic range. More headroom is always a welcome thing, right?

Artwood: hi-quality tonewoods and amazing value
Ibanez's Artwood formula can be distilled down to two essential elements: tonewoods and value. the concept is simple. The Artwood Series offers you traditional, eminently playable acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars sporting hi-quality tonewoods and innovative, great-sounding electronics. Fitted with an Ibanez under saddle pickup and an Ibanez SPT Shape Shifter preamp (with onboard tuner), your Ibanez AW50ECENT Artwood will take you from home to studio to stage without a hitch.

i wasn't born yesterday, and i know that it's a "get what you pay for" world, but in a hard-as-hell economy, that should work both ways, and this guitar delivers for your hard-earned dollars. the desi... read more [+]gn and the manufacturing make for nice action, a full and rich sound, an instrument in short that doesn't just feel as if it was crunched out on an assembly line. the woods, the built-in tuner allowing for alternate tunings, the quality pegs--all very nice. i'm no virtuoso, but a good friend who is was also impressed by the feel and the sound from up and down the board. close [-]

The hardware that comes with the guitar includes shims and extra saddle for further fine tuning if you wish. For the money, it would be hard too beat this instrument. Abalone dots and headstock trim. Awesome for the price!

Music Background: Guitarist, 11 years. Blues.
I picked this up as a birthday present to myself. Its really the first acoustic I've ever had that wasn't a 99.00 knockaround (I've only ever really appreciated electrics in the 11 years I've been pla... read more [+]ying). I am thoroughly impressed. I played guitars in the music store for close to 2 hours before taking her home and I am not disappointed. You're paying for tone and pretty decent quality woods here, so its a relatively no-frills instrument. Every time I pick it up I'm surprised by how nice it sounds. The pickup is very good. Sounds good to me when plugged in. The EQ and the tone shaping controls make it easy to dial in a sound that works for you. I have indeed played many Martins and Taylors in my time as a guitarist and while this is not truly on that level, it holds its own very well as it feels very well made and very "quality." For what I want to do with it, I don't feel like spending any more than this is necessary. Takeway: if you're a gigging songwriter or someone who just wants to jam with your friends at a coffeehouse occasionally (like me) it will do you just fine. close [-]
