Ibanez has selected solid Engelmann spruce for the AW300ECECS's topwood. With its characteristic broad and strong overtones, Engelmann spruce - along with its Sitka cousin - are very popular topwood choices for big-bodied dreadnoughts. Both varieties give you strong projection, but Engelmann tops tend to produce richer, more complex tones than than most Sitka tops - particularly when the guitar is played softly.
