My old unit blew up (literally) and that was quite a fireworks show but it was almost 20 years old and parts will go eventually and so I bought the new model (AR-1215) and it's worked perfectly. No... read more [+] matter what the local utility company decided to send me (130 V usually), I can just sit back and grin knowing that my computer, A5X monitors, etc are all getting 120 V, no more, no less. And if the power surges too much, unit goes off. Power goes off? My backup battery kicks in. December 29, 2012 Music Background: voice actor, guitarist, all around audio stuff If you have a home studio, it is WELL worth the money to protect it over the long haul with this unit. The unit is DEAD quiet when stepping the voltage up or down within say 10 volts. It gets noisier if it has to maintain a large variance because more coils of the transformer are engaging. Very pleased and hope this one lasts 20 years. close [-] Furman AR-1215

My old (and I do mean old) AR-117 blew up (literally) and I finally decided to buy a new one. I also run a battery backup so no matter what the city or god tries to do to me, I'll always have power AND clean power. It's just like the old one ref looks and layout. It's actually noiseless unless you put your ear right up to it. If it goes into harder regulation, you'll hear a slight hum but within say 10 or 15 V, it's noiseless for all practical purposes. close [-]

My Sweetwater Corner Man -- Dennis Konicki -- recommended this product to me. Right now I have a Mac and an amp plugged into the Furman. And a storm is coming --- and I have zero worries.March 22, 2012 Music Background: Does it matter? ... read more [+]> Although I will be moving soon, my current house is a "Gremlin" house -- the voltage is unreliable -- and 3 of my Sweetwater items have, well, "blown up." But, Sweetwater replaced those items: And I did my part, by getting the Furman Voltage Regulator. Since the Furman -- zero problems. No weird noises; no fizzes or buzzes; no strange hums or volume drops -- nothing but pure regulated power. Thanks! close [-] It does what it says it will do...
