I write this review mainly for beginner guitarists. I myself am a beginner guitarist, taking guitar lessons for about nine months, at my college. I myself own two Fender guitars, and a Squire, and San... read more [+]ta is bringing an Alverez with an Amp.August 25, 2006 Music Background: Beginning Guitarist/College Student Anyway, this tuner is great. However, it took me quite a while to understand what I was doing wrong with it. Relaize that on many tuners, you do not have LED lights at the bottom, so as soon as the needle is at 0 your strings are tuned. This is an absolutely wonderful tuner, I was blown away! Makes the tuning process so quick, and easy when you understand how this one works, as the directions with it aren't real clear. To use this tuner, and; see just how simple and easy it really is, be aware first, that the needle just going to zero, here isn't going to tune your guitar. Take special notice of the lights at the bottom. Notice they are numbered, 6E, 5A, 4D, 3G, 2B, 1E. The lights are numbered by the strings. So when you start, make sure the thickest string, 6E is facing you. Start with that string first. If your light goes to a different light, keep tightning and releasing tension on your strings with your tuning knobs, depending on weather you are in the plus or minus side, more if minus, less if plus, but the catch to this tuner tuning your guitar, is you MUST ABSOLUTELY MUST, make sure that when you start with the thickest string, E6, that when the tuner is at zero, your light is on the E6 light, if it is on a different light it isn't in tune, and you need to keep adjucting until it is, and then each light in order, repating the steps above. Each light is for the next string up, from thickest with 6E to smallest string ending with 1E. It took me a few months, to figure this tuner out, as I was just trying to tune by zero, but after realizing this, I tuned all three of my guaitars to perfect tune in ten minutes, it is great, just great, this is a wonderful tuner, and once you get the hang of it, you can tune any guitar, and you too will be blown away! close [-] Disappointed

I chose this tuner because the meter shows if you're sharp or flat and when you're closing in on perfect tuning. Unfortunately, the tuner is inconsistent and inaccurate. This is okay for beginner guitarists but for performers, buy another brand. close [-]

Since you can't tune unless the needle can make it to zero, this turned out to a total bust. I opted for a Korg instead and couldn't be happier. close [-]
