Audio Technica AE4100

After hearing 8 billion bad mixes for 20 years using the "industry standard" sm58 in the Garage Rock capital of the world, which means lotsa bad sounding venues and singing into every mic on the planet, I gotta say the 4100 woke up the world for me. This thing makes a 58 sound like a door stop. You don't have to work this mic, just sing and you are heard. Especially helps those of us without the greatest voices in the world. It's so cool to be able to play a mic rather than work it! No harsh mids, just smooth and comfy. Buy this mic and put a 58 next to it like I did (and like several friends have!!) and instantly you and everyone else in the room with an ear will see, er hear. Maybe I just don't get 58s, but I hear what was missing for a long time. I been seeing them pop up on some of the late night shows being used by some pretty good singers too. can't wait to try the 6100.
