I use it a lotI own everything that XLN has released with the exception of maybe three MIDI packs. I'll tell you straight up that I'm an Addictive Drums fanboy, they have won me over completely for so many reasons; but that doesn't mean I can't be impartial when it comes to their individual packs. This particular ADpak is one that I use more than any other than perhaps the basic kits that came with the initial install. The kit itself is fundamentally a stripped down, dry or roomy setup with thin ("trebly") hats and splashy cymbals (I think in colors, and the cymbals in this kit sound "silver" to me as opposed to the brassy retro ones or the gold ones on a 90s rock kit -- if that makes any sense. It has nothing to do with their physical color, it's about how I hear the sound). The result is a very basic drum sound that, as is, sounds very modern lo-fi. "Indie" just like the pak's name. But the basic nature of the kit gives you room to tweak it a lot. In fact, some of the included artist presets are pretty FX-heavy and specialized.
Obviously your chosen style(s) of music will dictate whether or not this ADpak is useful to you. I am a musical chameleon, so I do use this kit a whole lot -- sometimes as is and sometimes shaping the sound more using channel and send FX. Along with the metal kits and the Tama kit that came with the initial package, this is one of my staples, whether playing live via my e-drum kit or just using the midi files.

XLN does it againThe Indie pak is kind of like the Retro pak...meaning it is essential! If you want realistic sound you must have this pak to add to expand your arsenal. It's that good!
