Customer Reviewsfrom Tortola British Virgin Islands May 12, 2010 Music Background: Recording Engineer,Sound Engineer Smooth Big And Open SoundingThis preamp is mind blowing the way it gets that big sound no matter what you run throw it when it comes to vocals you get that big round vocal sound bass guitars you get that extra low end quality you never heard when tracking keyboards it does some thing to the high end of the instruments that words cant explain to me this is the king of preamps and avalon design makes real high end equipment so call your sweetwater rep and order yours to day the avalon design ad2022 rocks.from Bosnia and Herzegovina May 12, 2009 Music Background: Recording Engineer,Pro Musician Great, warm and big pure sound. This awesome preamp push on high level all your signals, even if you put trough dynamic mics such as shure SM 57 or sennheiser MD 421 what i actually do when i record el guitars.Great, warm and big pure sound simple is not just a sount ,there is a something much bigger!!!! from Baltimore, MD April 25, 2007 Music Background: Pro Musician, Recording Engineer Excellent Clarity and HUGE headroomIf you already have good A/D converters and good mics, then this should be your next purchase. This preamp is what separates the home projects from the big name productions.I run almost everything through it. Great with ribbons as well! from Irvine, CA March 9, 2012 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Sound Designer/Mixer Incredibly Clean!!!This is my primary pre-amp for foley recording. We have 6 different high-end mic pre's (aka costing $2000 or more) in our studio and nothing can come close to the 2022 for headroom and it is dead quiet. The subtlest foley work will come through clean and bright with an incredibly low noise floor. My deduction of a half point is the fact that the gain knob is stepped in increments of 4dB. I know that you can fine adjust with the output level but the problem is that when switching the gain, there is an audible bump in the audio which can distract the talent if this is used for voiceover work. Other than that, an awesome piece of gear. |
