I did a 13-song session with an older blueburst one of these. We recorded it with a Yamaha fx/preamp through a Soundcraft mixer direct to ProTools. Amazing, detailed, accurate: all that and more. I'd recommend one of these to anyone who's serious about tracking nylon-string tones!

Great Tone

I have owned this model for 4 years. It is the only nylon string guitar I could stand to play. The sound is excellent when used in conjunction with a Fishman Aura pedal it is flawless, no piezo quack!

The guitar is very comfortable to play, the slim neck plays like butter! Using a midi interface has open up a new world of sound. I use an axon guitar synth and a Roland Sonic Cell, the layering of sounds with the nylon sounds produces absolutely huge fat sounds. If ever lost I would replace it immediately after the morning and severe depression sure to follow. This is a great guitar!

Ideal for Praise and Worship settings

Reason for purchasing: Andy Bitler and the Sweetwater team. Great buying experience.

Setting:
Church. Five piece praise team at a military base chapel. Duty calls members away on a regular basis. This instrument (paired with the GR gear) allows me to cover a lot of ground and thus maintain consistency of sound.

Use:
Guitar/percussion/keys/brass and woodwinds/backing pads

Church music today is essentially "pop" music, so while nothing replaces my HD28, I do appreciate the flexibility my Godin ACS Slim allows me.

Pro: Construction, attractive instrument, well made. Great value for the price.

Cons: She's a bit heavy, suggest a 2.5 inch strap at least.

Comparison:
Have owned and used GK 3 equipped Strat and a GK 2 unit on an Ibanez. Godin tracks much better.

Godin ACS-SA Slim (Black Pearl)

I just picked one of these up to add some Nylon sound (playing a lot of Zac Brown Band material these days) to my playing, and am very happy with the purchase. In addition to great Nylon tones, I use this guitar to run my Roland GR-55 and that opens up a whole new world of opportunities. Over the past weekend I played it out using a couple of patches I had created to get a nice Rockabilly sound with a big thumping Bass in the background - completely changes the way you think about and approach songs. There is just so much more you can do with one of these. I'd have given it higher marks if the tuning stayed put longer, but that may just be a Nylon string issue with them stretching more than I am used to with my steel string guitars. Looking forward to much more experimentation with this guitar!
