I have been searching for the next big DAW interface that would allow me to do MORE than just record tracks and sequence them. That I have been able to do for years.

I wanted the ability to record with LIVE soft FX, looping & sample technology AND be able to do it easily so I can focus more on my songwriting and less on my interface meddling.

For someone like myself who records each track seperately in a non-group atmosphere, this is excellent. High quality stuff from Sony.

Acid Pro is everything I need in a DAW. I would suggest purchasing the seminar series along with it. It will save you a ton of time learning to use it to it's full potential.

Music Background:  Hobbyist but good recording engineer ...

The 1st DAW I tried was Sonic Foundry's Vegas, in its first version, maybe about 10 years ago if I remember correctly. I used it for few weeks, and it was OK back then. I became interested in 3D graphics & video production, and got so busy exploring that world, so I almost never touched any audio software since then, expect for Sound Forge for simple 1 track recording, editing, and mastering.



In the last 3 years, I become again very interested in the audio recording field, so I studied audio engineering using Pro Tools as the only DAW. I found Pro Tools to be very powerful, but difficult to use as well. I even purchased Digi 002 during my study to aid me mastering Pro Tools at home. During that time, I tried many popular DAW's such as Cubease, Sonar, Samplitude, etc, and I disliked all. Also,I tried Acid 4 Pro and it was nice for loop music creation only, it was not a DAW.



In the last 3 months, I started testing almost all popular DAW's with their latest versions, but I was not convinced with any of them, so I kept using Pro Tools. When Sony transformed Acid Pro into REAL DAW in version 6, it was like a magic to me. Acid Pro 6 is a very powerful DAW indeed, and yes, it has its pros and cons like any other DAW on earth. But what makes it stand out of the crowd is its very easy learning curve, and standard, but logical user interface.



Acutely, I produced a great song in that same day I started learning its features !! Yes .. it is this easy. In fact, I am selling my Digi 002, and switching to Acid 6 Pro as my ONLY DAW for my personal work at my home studio.

This is THE only product I would give a five star rating for. Acid is the choice for many producers and film score writers the world over (no,I don't mean the drug). The program is just like the energizer bunny, it just keeps goin and goin, and never seems to get bogged down by too much happening at one time like some other programs. I highly recommend this for all your audio looping needs.

well, I'm sad that sonic foundry has been sold sony because this will
make this one of the greatest softwear sweets that was made for creating music bad why miss with somethig that is the most effieciant at making music I think it run circles around cubase i hope that sony only improves on this so it can keep the users happy that's all for now.
