Customer Reviewsfrom Murfreesboro, TN April 25, 2012 Music Background: semi-pro musician, live sound Zoom has come a long way...Zoom's processor technology has come a long way since the early days of the 505 series. The A2.1u is probably one of the best acoustic processors right out of the box-- period. The ability to mix/blend the processed sound with the guitar's original signal sound allows for a huge palette of tones in a live scenario; and allows you to use a fully processed tone, the naked original signal, or any combination in between. And Zoom actually got it right on the pre-set sounds on this one-- there are dozens of usable sounds readily available the first time you plug it in. Also, the built-in D/I XLR-out is a great addition and allows you to run straight to the PA board. Highly recommended for live acoustic work. from Chicago April 12, 2012 Music Background: Musician nice inexpensive pedallooking for a small multi efx with a volume pedal? this is a great choice. no gain (except compression) or distortion. has typical modulation, delay, verb, & has reverse delay. very quiet signal to noise ratio. easy to program.from Battle Ground, WA USA December 22, 2008 Music Background: recording engineer, pro musician, songwriter I Like It!!!I used a POD X3 Live for awhile to add effects to my Variax acoustic and Alvarez acoustic (with B-Band electronics). It worked well, but was really overkill for what I needed for live performance. And, it was big 'n' heavy. I wanted something smaller, something that would retain a natural acoustic sound, occasionally spiced up with tremelo, reverb, chorus. I also needed the ability to switch quickly between sounds, and to have a volume pedal. The Zoom turned out to be perfect for my needs. It is easy to program presets, it is small and compact, and it is seems to be very reliable and sturdy. The built in tuner works great and is easy to read. You can configure the pedal to control effects. I like it!!!!! Plus.....it is candy apple green!from BN January 1, 2011 Music Background: Musician, Hobbyist, Student Great SoundJust "plug N Play" with great presets included to get you started. Bring it anywhere without worrying of power source. Put in the batteries into this little green monster and you're ready to go.from Colorado Springs August 11, 2009 Music Background: Church Musician Great ValueI just got it today and can't believe what I got. The tuner and the XLR out almost pay for it. I can use some of the presets right out of the box until I learn how to make my own.I can also use the unbalance out as a monitor when I'm using the XLR. Now I will be able to hear myself on stage. (The acoustic guitar always gets buried in the wedge mix). So far I'm really happy from Up North - near Hayward, WI March 1, 2012 Music Background: Semi - professional performer Key Feature MissingThis is a nice, clean sounding unit. Way more effects than you will ever need. Requires considerable experimentation and study to learn what works for your particular instrument and application. The biggest drawback for me is that you are not able to store different volume settings for each channel. You store a volume setting and it saves it across the board. So if you want to have more volume for lead playing the only way to get it is have the volume all the way up and remember to back off on the pedal during your rhythm parts. It would be much preferable to be able to set individual volume levels for each stored channel. However; moderate use of some effects certainly livens up my performances.
