The Aviom A-16R Personal Mixer is designed to meet the demanding requirements of touring and studio pros alike. It is an excellent solution for monitor systems using wireless ear monitors as well as with power amp and wedge speaker combinations. The A-16R retains all the features of the A-16II Personal Mixer, and adds balanced outputs on the rear panel (XLR and _” jacks), stereo balanced insert points, and a stereo auxiliary mix input with a front-panel level control. User-created mix Presets can be stored and recalled by using MIDI program changes. The A-16R mix parameters can also be controlled via MIDI, providing sophisticated control for demanding stage and studio applications. The A-16R can accept the A-16CS Control Surface as an option.

We use both the A-16II and the A-16R. The A-16R adds the following features not available in the A-16II:
1) Add in a 17th channel. No extra mixer required. It is an analog stero channel, but yo... read more [+]u can add in without burning one of the common 16.
2) Ability to add inserts (like EQ).
3) Keep all the big hardware in the back out of the way. You only have to have one simple CAT-5 wire to the A-16CS which I mount on a mic stand. No wall-warts or power cables. close [-]
