From Our Research Team:Discover the Difference a Taylor Guitar Can MakeThe Taylor 900 Series pairs the unmistakable warmth and richness of Taylor's finest Indian rosewood with a premium Sitka spruce top artistically edged with abalone. The ivoroid-bound fretboard's pearl inlay pattern harmonizes with a matching abalone-encircled rosette. It is the consummate rosewood experience, a masterwork of tonal and visual beauty.Taylor Guitar 914ce The sleek lines of its Grand Auditorium body are accentuated by a softly-rounded Venetian cutaway, complementing the 914ce's shimmering appointments. Taylor Guitar 914ce Wood A classic pairing of premium Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, yielding incredibly warm and complex overtones. Taylor Guitar 914ce Body Type: Grand Auditorium Taylor's Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming. Taylor Expression System Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System™ utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound. Taylor Guitar 914ce Finish: Gloss The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Available finish options in this series are natural back, sides, and top, and natural back and sides with a tobacco or honey sunburst top. Taylor Guitar 914ce Features:

The construction of this guitar is absolute perfection to match the PERFECT tonal quality when gliding, sliding, hammering, pulling, strumming, and finger picking! Upon arrival, I opened the case and ... read more [+]found a glowing gem from Heaven that shone like the morning sun! I was completely blown away by the beauty of this work of art, both aesthetically and acoustically, in terms of expression. I received this guitar on August 08, 2007, and it already has about 40 hours of play time. The incredible point in reference to playing this guitar is that it gets better and better sounding the more you play it. I suppose that goes along with seasoning prime cuts of beef before you devour them in a manner of speaking. The bottom line here, folks, is that you truly can judge this book (guitar) by its cover! Not only is it a joy to stare at for hours on end, it's the most addicting instrument I've played thus far. I've owned Gibson, Martin, and Takamine which pale in comparison in my humble opinion (IMHO). I'm not knocking the other guitar makers, but based on my own experiences (20 years now), this IS the best guitar I've ever played in my lifetime. If you don't have one, save your ducats, because it's worth every well-spent cent!!!!!! close [-]

It is simply idiotic that any instrument with an adjustable truss rod should come without a wrench. While on the subject of truss rods; the holes for the truss rod cover mounting screws are drilled in the wrong places. The result is that the upper screw goes into nothing but air! The screw is actually going down into the recess for the rod adjustment wrench and doesn't screw into any wood. I suppose I'll have to send it back to Taylor after I've exhausted any other repair options. To think that I'll be sending a guitar in this price range back because they can't locate the holes for the truss rod cover mounting screws correctly is insane. There is an area on the back of the neck that has serious finish issues. I don't know if it was over buffed or what but parts seem to be raw wood with filler and stain but no finish. For a Rosewood guitar there is a marked lack of acoustic bass response and little treble. The tone is flat, no sparkle, nothing above average. The electric sound however is very good indeed. Straight into a mixing board this system works well. Amplified the Expression system is simple to use and very versatile. close [-] Dave likes it
