Man I could not believe how easy this guitar is to play.I love the quality, beauty and playability of this guitar. My sales rep Mike was helpful with questions and following up with me during and after the sale.

Phenomenal

I wanted a switch up from the somewhat dull earthy tones of my Martin D-15. The D-15 never recorded very well so I checked out various Taylors. Having played am 814ce I decided on the 816ce without actually playing one, as I play a little more rhythm than fingerstyle. When I got the 816 I wasn't disappointing. Although it is set up for medium gauge strings, it plays almost exactly the same as the 814 with it's lights, and that is to say amazingly! I can play lead on it almost as well as an electric, fingerstyle is a breeze and it sounds amazing for strumming - bight clearly articulated with a well rounded but not overwhelming bass presence.
The expression sound system is a huge leap forward form standard Piezo pickups, and I would not hesitate to use it in a live setting, although I get better results in the studio recording with a decent condensor mic.
As expected, the overall finish of the guitar is of an incredibly high standard and it looks beautiful too. An inspiring instrument to play and in every way worth the price!

SImply amazing!!

I played this guitar at a taylor road show in wilmington N.C. and knew I had to have one.The voice and tone are just simply amazing!. as is the fit and finish.Taylor has knocked it out of the park with this one.I look forward to playing this guitar for many,many years to come.. also,the sweetwater tech. richard whittington I dealt with on the phone was both professional and courtious and was very knowledgable on the product line.
