When it came time to buy a high-end acoustic, I played everything, everywhere. The Taylor 814ce was the hands-down winner. From its beautifully even tone to the silky playable action to the astoundingly recordable Expression System, this is the best guitar I've ever owned.

Incredible sound and look for a sweet guitar

Shopping for an acoustic guitar, especially one that I intend to have for the rest of my life, was pretty challenging at first since I only have one other acoustic guitar which happened to be my first ever guitar.

But I found the perfect guitar with the Taylor 814ce in tobacco sunburst. The design of the guitar with the sunburst and the pearl inlays looks fantastic. I don't think any type of picture would do it justice, you would have to see it for yourself to take in the great design.

One thing that surprised me, given the guitar's size, is that it's got an enormous sound to it.

It's so easy to play too with the mahogany neck; strumming chords and playing single notes on the guitar feels like I'm playing an electric guitar.

This one's a keeper!

A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!

First and foremost, I can't say enough about the AWESOME service I received from the staff of Sweetwater. Ben Porter, was my personal Sales Engineer, he was simply amazing. As for the Taylor 814 Ce, well let's just say, the guitar speaks for itself! Absolutely blow away, the resonating sound when strumming a chord, the clarity when finger picking and the beauty of the finish on the guitar is clear as glass. The beauty about playing this Taylor is, for instance, 3hrs can go by and only feels like an hr, without your thumb, hand cramping up. The PERFECT tonal quality when gliding, sliding is bar-none the BEST. Sweetwater you've made a new friend. I will most definitely recommend you to my friends

814ce Hands Down Best Acoustic

I have played many Taylors. You name it, most likely have played it. I was skeptical if there really was a difference between certain upper level Taylors (i.e. 6xx and up). I have played both the 614, 714, and 814 back to back. Nothing compares to the tonal response of this guitar. From higher register bends to low register harmonics... the tone is unparalleled. A fine blend between mid lows and highs. I love a crisp sound, without much muddy low end... and this is the guitar that best fits it. The expression system rivals the old fishman prefix just fine. Very impressed.
