Elementary Music Pak # 1 HybridThis package represents some ofElectronic Courseware Systems most established programs for early musician development. Itincludes: Early Music Skills: This is a tutorial and drill program designed for earlychildhood development as well as young beginning musicians. The program covers four basicmusic reading skills: recognition of line and space notes; comprehension of the numberingsystem for the musical staff; visual and aural identification of notes moving up and down;and recognition of notes stepping and skipping up and down. KIDS: Getting Ready toPlay is a four disk series for the very young. Zoo Puppet Theater reinforces learningcorrect finger numbers for piano playing; Race Car Keys teaches keyboard geography byrecognizing solfege syllables or note names; Dinosaurs Lunch teaches placement of thenotes on the treble staff; and Follow Me asks the student to play notes that have beenpresented aurally. Adventrues in Musicland: This unique set of music games features characters fromLewis Carrolls Alice in Wonderland. Players learn through pictures, sounds andanimation which help develop understanding of musical tones, composers, and musicalsymbols.Games include Music Match, Melody Mixup, Picture Perfect, and Sound Concentration. Clef Notes: Clef Notes is designed to improve the speed with which a student canidentify music notes as they are placed on the staff, using treble, alto, tenor, and bassclefs. Correct answers are selected on a graphics display, using a moveable cursor. Tennotes must be identified; consecutively to complete a session. Tap-It: This is a rhythm skills program teaching the concepts of beat and tempothrough the presentation of rhythms and tapping drills where you respond after eitherlistening or reading rhythm patterns. A non-stop quiz at the end of each level drillsrhythm accuracy. The lesson has three skill levels with an option for a Final Quiz usingthe rhythms from level three. Musicus: Musicus is a game designed to help gain a better perspective of therelative length of notes (whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes) and combinations of tiednotes of equal value (e.g. two tied quarters, etc.) and how these note values relate tomusical meter. Maneuver the falling note blocks into position in measures of specificmeters. the note blocks will fit across measure lines ONLY if they include a tie. If anincorrect note value is directed across a measure line it will appear again at the top ofthe screen. Points are awarded on the number of lines completed (all measures in one linefilled) and from the type of notes the measures are filled with in a completed line-highpoint values for longer note values. Total points are based on the number of linescompleted during the allotted time plus the total point value of the notes in completedlines. Time limits range from 210 seconds (beginner) to 90 seconds (very fast-superchallenge), and score will be multiplied more for faster speeds. |
