AWESOME

This is one amazing pre/eq!!!! Very big sounding pre. The eq sweatens up your source. This is an incredible value. My uncle has one of these and two vintage Neve 1073's. He was amazed at how close they have came to recreating the classic at this price range. Now they aren't an exactly the same but at this price range, "Amazing Close" is good enough for me. I haven't heard the X-Mod but have heard great things. You can hear this in action with the Avant CV-12 on Sho Baraka's - "We can be More Remix" on his vocals at the beginning of the track.

THis is a clean pre! The EQ is SICK! great preamp for a great price. the DI on the front is nice as well. I have many Pres in my rack and this one gets just as much use as once 3 times the price. Do yourself a favor and get it.

Great product

This is a really darn good preamp for the price. I have a lot of "Big Brand X" preamps from vintage and new companies that are twice the price of this thing, and it really holds it's own. I was looking for something that I could run live for toms - something I could EQ analog on the way in (because I always seem to EQ toms, no matter what the genre). My other channel strips are prioritized to kick and snare, and bass guitar. I wanted something that could totally hold its own but not break the bank. So, I bought a few of these and have been using them with amazing results on toms ever since.

This was TOTALLY the ticket. Sounds GREAT on toms, sounds great on drums and kills as a Bass DI. Wasn't too happy with it on vocals or acoustic guitar, but granted I have "Big Brand X" preamps that I use for that. If you don't have the money for expensive preamps, this thing really does sound great on almost anything.
