At first glance, a Lakland bass (pronounced lake-land) may not look all that different from the classic basses that came before it. But once you get one in your hands, you'll definitely feel and hear the difference. The necks are nice and smooth, letting you cruise up and down the fingerboard with ease. Then there's the custom-shop look and feel that each Lakland bass has. While they're not inexpensive, Lakland basses attain a level of quality that far surpasses their price.

This is the bass that started Lakland down the path to boutique bliss! Designed to reside squarely between an American classic and a modern favorite, the 55-94 Deluxe is a tone machine that genre hops at your leisure. The split MM pickup delivers modern rock tones, while the "jazzy" neck pickup offers up a sound that firmly rooted in the vintage side of things. Tonally, the 55-94 Deluxe is a home run, but it's the uber-comfortable neck that really makes this a supreme instrument. The 55-94 Deluxe is the culmination of the finest electric bass features of all time, but refined and tweaked to Lakland's standards. Lakland added a whole extra inch to the scale length, giving the 55-94 a tighter sound when you pluck the B string. The result is a stunning bass that plays like a well-loved vintage bass, but is simultaneously versatile enough to fit the needs of any modern bassist.
