From Our Research Team:

A Stunning Acoustic-electric by Taylor

The Taylor 516ce mahogany grand symphony guitar is a fine example of what sets Taylor apart as a guitar maker. Simple yet elegant, this guitar features an extraordinary combination of choice tonewoods and exquisite appointments. A top made of supple Englemann spruce gives the 516ce a soft and mellow sound with warm overtones that bring out the best of the tropical American mahogany back and sides. A single-ringed abalone soundhole rosette and small pearl dot inlays give the 516ce an unassuming charm, balancing its bold tone with its unostentatious appearance. Gotoh 510 Antique Gold tuners add one more twinkle of class to the Taylor 516ce.

the guitar plays well in fingerstyle as well as pick style. lots of sustain , versaltile and a modern day guitar. Concert worthy. Beats the other competitors by a long margin.

Awesome guitar

Great guitar. I also have a Taylor 314ce which is another great one. The 516 comes with medium gauges Elixirs, but was set up well. I switched to light gauge and now it plays great, a tiny adjustmen... read more [+]t to the truss rod. The guitar has more bass than my 314, but still very balanced. I also have an old Martin HD28v. This guitar comes in right between the two, some of the flavor of a dreadnaught, but not tubby like some of them can be. Cedar is nice, not a major tonal change from the spruce. Maybe it will mellow a bit once played in. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
