The Genelec 5040A is an ultra-compact active subwoofer that's designed to pair perfectly with up to five 6010A powered monitors. When you add it to your system - surround or not - you can use the 5040A's included remote volume control to adjust all the speakers and even take charge of versatile acoustic controls. The Genelec 5040A subwoofer sports a magnetically-shielded 6.5" bass driver and a 40-watt amplifier with crossover filter circuitry - working together to pack a respectable 96dB maximum SPL. To match your studio space, the Genelec 5040A is available in multiple colors.

The Genelec 5040A subwoofer was designed in cooperation with internationally acclaimed Finnish designer Harri Koskinen - resulting in top performance and an unobtrusive, modern appearance. At the heart of the Genelec 5040A is its magnetically shielded, downward-firing 6.5" bass driver, which is attached to a die-cast aluminum bass plate. That bass plate also acts as the chassis for the 5040A's 40-watt amplifier and crossover circuitry. All-in-all, the system delivers a nice punch of 96dB maximum SPL.

If you are building a 5.1 surround system, the Genelec 5040A fits the bill. It's designed to pair perfectly with up to five powered monitors - and complements Genelec's 6010As quite well. The built-in crossover unit on the 5040A features six RCA input connectors for five main channels and one LFE channel, plus it features five RCA output connectors for the system's other speakers. You can make custom adjustments to input sensitivity and crossover phase, and the main channels have a fixed highpass filter that's designed to work with Genelec's 6010As.

Included remote, plus a handy 1/8" input for your other devices
You can control your entire 5.1 system with the remote included with the Genelec 5040A. The remote allows you to control volume as well as make versatile acoustic controls for perfect room integration. Another handy inclusion with the Genelec 5040A is its 1/8" input - ideal for conveniently connecting your portable audio player, or routing your computer's system output to the sound system.
