Discover the Difference a Taylor Guitar Can Make!
The 400 Series boasts backs and sides of solid ovangkol, an African tonewood with olive-brown coloration, intensely varied grain, and rosewood-like tone. Features include a solid, gloss-finished Sitka spruce top, white fiber binding, an ebony fretboard inlaid with pearl dots, and the Expression System, now standard on all CE models.

Taylor 414ce
Providing access to the upper registers of the fingerboard, the soft Venetian cutaway is both practical and attractive, while the Taylor Expression System™ allows you to share your music with the world.

Taylor 414ce Wood
The quick, articulate response of Sitka spruce is combined with the warmth and sparkle of ovangkol, giving the 400 Series a tone reminiscent of rosewood, yet uniquely its own.

Taylor 414ce Body Style: Grand Auditorium
Taylor's Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

Taylor 414ce Finish: Satin with Gloss Top
The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Customer Reviews
 A professional, well-rounded sound.
by PJ from Evans City, PA, September 19, 2007
Music Background:  Vocal and guitar for 36 years (still trying to get it right)

“I've owned my 414 for about a year and I continue to be amazed at the sound it generates. Clean and crisp- but not harsh; pleasant to the ear bone. The Expression System can be very tricky; be careful going through a system as opposed to a regular amp. The guitar can be tough to balance through a system; have the soundboard guru keep the volume tacked to no more than 1/2 way while adjusting...” Read More
