Wonderful MicI play a Charis Acoustic. This is such a beautiful sounding guitar but the on board pickup simply never did it justice. The amplified sound is nowhere near the natural sound and I was always very unhappy amplifying it.
Now, it's no big secret that the best sound for any acoustic is with a mic but there is always the proximity issue. You need to stay perfectly still which is pretty much impossible.
DPA solved that issue and then some.
I read a lot about the 4099G and listened to tons of sound clips so I figured I'd try it. WELL IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING! After about 20 minutes finding the best spot to point the mic I found real ear candy. My guitar now sounds exactly as it does unamplified, through my AER amp and the sound system at my church. I had two top notch musicians A/B my guitar using it and natural. NO DIFFERENCE.
If you're looking for real quality and pure sound this is a great mic and well worth the price.

SUPER MICThis small monster sounds great and you can put it any way you like
I record my guitar in studio with this mic.... I was shocked for the detailed sound quality also the noise flour is very low
I hope if they make thicker cable for more safety feel
IF there is 10 stars I will give it to DPA 4099 Guitar

Amazing Way to Capture the GuitarI have used this mic a few times and just purchased one from Sweetwater so I would be able to do a gig this weekend live outside. It was great. I play Nylon/ Flamenco guitar and wanted to be able to move around a bit. Our sound guy loves this mic to it captures the guitar very well. We left the eq flat and just added a bit of reverb and the mic sounded great. I find that we need to push the pre amp a bit more than we would if I was using the Shure KSM 141 mic.
