Elegant instrument-miking system gives you studio-grade sound on the stage
The 4099 Guitar is a unique clip microphone inheriting the sonic approach from the legendary DPA studio microphones to a new instrument microphone. No multipurpose microphone, the 4099 Guitar microphone and mounting system is meticulously designed and optimized for the guitar family. This is to ensure that you get the best possible mount and audio reinforcement when performing live.

4099 microphone captures your instrument with accuracy
Representing years of research and development, the 4099 Guitar system's included 4099 condenser microphone features a supercardioid polar pickup pattern for superb gain-before-feedback. Fully capable of handling the guitar's dynamic range and subtle details, the 4099 lives up to its pedigree, with sound as accurate as DPA's other world-class microphones.

Rugged enough for stage demands, gentle enough for your valuable instruments
Despite its tiny, discreet size and its elegant, lightweight design, the 4099 Guitar is extremely rugged. The versatile gooseneck provides stable and repeatable positioning. What's more, the microphone can be easily unclipped and repositioned or moved to another instrument with only one hand, while the mounting system is designed never to mar or scratch the finish of your instrument.

Can work as a basic XLR microphone or as part of your wireless system
Through the use of basic adapters, the 4099 is compatible with virtually any wireless system and can also be used as a standard 48V phantom powered microphone via the included XLR connector.

Wonderful Mic

I play a Charis Acoustic. This is such a beautiful sounding guitar but the on board pickup simply never did it justice. The amplified sound is nowhere near the natural sound and I was always very unha... read more [+]ppy amplifying it.
Now, it's no big secret that the best sound for any acoustic is with a mic but there is always the proximity issue. You need to stay perfectly still which is pretty much impossible.
DPA solved that issue and then some.
I read a lot about the 4099G and listened to tons of sound clips so I figured I'd try it. WELL IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING! After about 20 minutes finding the best spot to point the mic I found real ear candy. My guitar now sounds exactly as it does unamplified, through my AER amp and the sound system at my church. I had two top notch musicians A/B my guitar using it and natural. NO DIFFERENCE.
If you're looking for real quality and pure sound this is a great mic and well worth the price. close [-]

Amazing Way to Capture the Guitar

We left the eq flat and just added a bit of reverb and the mic sounded great. I find that we need to push the pre amp a bit more than we would if I was using the Shure KSM 141 mic. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

I can talk to my Sales Engineer about any piece of equipment, and he always steers me in the right direction. He truly knows what he's talking about, and he never tries to over-sell me on anything. If he worked in the Nashville area, I'd probably owe him about 20 dinners by now!
