Customer Reviewsfrom Hutto, TX April 4, 2012Music Background: former semi-pro, current hobbyist GK 400RB-IV, my trusty ol' friendI’ve owned the 400RB-IV for six years now. Originally bought it in college because I needed a cheap and professional sounding amp, and that’s exactly what it is. The 400RB has a unique but versatile voice and I was able to pinpoint MY sound pretty easily. With a pick, I can dig into it and get a real punchy, aggressive punk sound. With fingers playing closer to neck, I get deep reggae or Motown sound – all without changing settings. At a time when I was touring regularly, my vintage SVT crapped out and I had to go a few weeks with my 400RB backup. Had no problem driving my 8x10, even at outdoor festivals with 2,000+ crowds. Consensus was the GK sounded better, so we didn’t even get the SVT fixed, just went and bought a 1001RB as full-time replacement. Most important, this thing is durable. I am known for being quite abusive with my gear and this thing has been dropped, rolled down the street, left in the rain and still kicks huge sound today. DI did go out after 5 years, but that was probably more my fault than a quality issue.
