From Our Research Team:One of DPA's Best-Selling Microphones!Since its release in 1982 the Type 4006 microphone has become a worldwide studio standard. It's one of the most popular Standard Microphones in DPA's line. This omnidirectional recording mic features an extremely linear frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz, high sensitivity and a low noise-floor. The 4006 is phantom powered (P48), which together with the extended range of acoustic pressure equalizers and different protection grids turns the 4006 into an extremely cost effective solution. All in all, the Type 4006 can be changed into 7 different microphone versions acoustically. The 4006 has gained its reputation through its total transparency in both the near-field and in the diffuse field. It's a must for any professional studio.

Nick ChurchQuestion: When is a microphone 'not' a microphone? Answer: When you put one (or a pair) of these DPA 4006's in front of any sound source! These mics have a well-deserved reputation for sonic neutrality, high sensitivity, and low noise. A selection of 'nose-cone' accessories change the mic into seven acoustically different versions for added versatility. Long regarded as a first choice mic for classical recordings, the DPA 4006 will faithfully capture whatever they 'hear', so if you need accuracy and a complete absence of any imposed 'microphone signature sound' in your recordings these should be at the top of your list.
