I'm beginning to build my home studio, and I wanted something affordable that would house my current mic collection and someday be used to protect my more valuable mics. This is my needs perfectly!July 31, 2010 Music Background: Student Engineer/Producer/Composer It's constructed very solidly; I even tried standing on it (watch the demo video!) and sure enough it held firm! The clasps are very firm when locked in, yet amazingly easy to shut & open. The pictures don't show it, but there is also a second tray with moveable dividers below the top one, giving you a very versatile and customizable storage space. After messing with the dividers, I was able to fit two 57s, two 58s, four clips, four mic cables and a stereo bar all inside this little case. And while it can get heavy when loaded down, the rubberized handle makes it wonderfully comfortable to carry. All in all, this is an amazing piece of gear at a great price that's appropriate for everyone from the amateur looking to store his 58s to the professional looking to protect his U87s. close [-] A Perfect Fit!

Yeah, good luck with that ... still, I was optimistic and kept searching. This little SKB was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. It has two tiers of 'trays,' if you will, with dividers that velcro in place so they're moveable, i.e., you can customize the tray to fit your needs. My two Neumanns fit on one tray -- in their cases -- an absolute PERFECT fit. The case itself is very hardy and well-made, along with being attractive and the perfect size for my needs. I honestly couldn't be happier with this little SKB case. I'm waxing poetic, but I absolutely love it! :O) Thanks to Matt Wood for his assistance on this. I'm pretty impressed by the SKB 6-mic case. It's rugged, nicely padded and comes with removable dividers so that you can customize the inside a bit. I will say that it's better suited to mics like the... read more [+] SM57/SM58/Audixi5 than it is to larger condenser mics or oddly shaped mics (i.e. Shure Beta 52A) but if you're willing to make it a 5-mic case, you can probably accomodate most basic mic sets. close [-]
