From Our Research Team:Superb Taylor Tone!Taylor's 314ce embodies a superb blend of classic tonewoods and modern electronics. With it, you get a gorgeous solid Sitka spruce top with sapele as its back and sides - ensuring excellent tone when unplugged. Yet, Taylor also added their renowned Taylor Expression electronics system, which makes the Taylor 314ce ripe for stage use, as well. And, whether you favor strum-style playing or fingerpicking you'll be equally delighted, as it features the treble-emphasized Grand Auditorium body style, which gives you excellent note definition, with the Taylor 314ce.Taylor 314ce Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
Choice tonewoods - Sitka spruce meets Sapele When you pick up a Taylor, you can expect outstanding tone - and one of the leading reasons behind that signature Taylor voice is the use of high-quality tonewoods. This particular Taylor, the 314ce, is a prime example of just that. It features time-proven Sitka spruce as its top - which gives you projection - while its body comprises Sapele - a somewhat red-brown tonewood, quite similar to mahogany. The Taylor 314ce also features a Tropical American mahogany neck, which is lined with a smooth-playing ebony fingerboard. Grand Auditorium body style, for exceptional treble zing Taylor's beloved Grand Auditorium body style, featured on the 314ce, employs the width and depth of the Dreadnought. But, its waist is narrower, which gives Grand-Auditorium-bodied acoustic guitars a sleeker look, with more treble zing. The body style also helps to sharpen the definition of each note. Ultimately, from fingerpicking to medium strumming, the Grand Auditorium is a great choice for nearly every playing style. Renowned Taylor Expression System electronics Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Taylor 314ce's Expression System uses patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. The Taylor ES system was created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer Rupert Neve - and the system is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or can be set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound. Taylor 314ce Finish: Satin with Gloss Top The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Taylor 314ce Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
The Taylor 314ce is a stellar choice for players of all styles - and it's great onstage, with the renowned Taylor Expression System!

This Guitar has all the Great sound that Taylor is known for. The vary first time I played one was in a vary small local guitar store that had maybe 35 Guitars, Most were Low end entry level guitars f... read more [+]or beginners. They did have Two nice guitars there, one was a martin (OM-21) and a Taylor (714) . I Played the martin first, What can I say about a martin...... They are Awesome Guitars, I really love the sound they put out. Then I pulled the Taylor off the wall, It was a 2001 model and it had been well (used) Scratches, dings, Belt buckle marks. This 714 played like a dream! The neck was so easy to play on, With just very light pressure on the strings it was so easy to play. The tone was Amazing, Its That Taylor signature sound, It sounded as good as the Martin. After playing the ( 714) I wanted to get a Taylor. So after many months of comparing other Great Guitars, Martins, Guilds, Gibson's, Just to name a few, I always came back to the Taylor. So I Tried all the different models Taylor makes. They all sounded great, Although The 114ce and the 214ce) did not have the same sound as the 314ce and on up models have. Those 2 Models are entry level at best. April 27, 2013 Music Background: 41 years playing Guitar After comparing the 314 , 414 , 514, 614 , 714 , 814ce, The sound was vary close in each model so for the money the 314ce made more sense to me. Although the 314ce does not have all the nicer inlays and maple bindings and the rosewood back and sides, It sounds almost as good as the higher end models and its almost half the price of the 814ce. I was surprised at how good the sapele wood sounds. I decided to give sweetwater a try after reading lots of great reviews, and then talking to Ben Porter (sales person) at sweetwater, It was refreshing to talk to someone who knows Guitars and wants you to find the right Guitar for you. After Deciding on the 314ce , It was sent out right away and arrived at my door within 7 days. It was Packaged very good, and was in perfect tune. Sweetwater followed up 2 days later to see if I had any Questions and to see if I was happy with my Purchase, and to let me know that if I have any problems they would be there to take care of it. Its nice to still find a company that cares about customer service, Im very satisfied with my Purchase, The Taylor 314ce was the right choice. close [-] Taylor 314ce Acoustic

Fantastic guitar, made me switch from being a Martin man...and that's saying something. Wonderful guitar, rich overtones and wonderfully balanced highs and lows...LOVE IT!!! Have 3 Taylors (this one, Classic Solidbody, and a T5-S1) and an American PRS Custom 24, I love Taylor more and more and more as time goes on. They are truly innovative and make the finest instruments on the planet in my opinion, right alongside PRS...in fact, Taylor is the only company giving PRS a run for their money, and that is saying something. These are great, affordable, and made in America. Can't go wrong, HIGHLY recommended! close [-]

by Daniel from Woodbury, MN USA
I have owned a Taylor 310 for 10 years now, so when I purchased the 314ce I was expecting the same Taylor quality, sound and workmanship. My 314ce arrived just the other day in perfect shape. I was ... read more [+]surprised it was even in tune! Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase. The guitar looks, plays and sounds great. November 3, 2012 Music Background: Pro Musician turned Hobbyist :) A word about Sweetwater: I normally will not buy a stringed instrument over the internet as I prefer to see, feel and play before I buy. My local music store didn’t have a 314ce in stock and told me they could order one for me. But Sweetwater provides photos of every guitar in stock so you can select the one you want. I love this feature! The guitar was set up perfectly when it arrived. So I am giving 5 stars not only to this guitar, but also to Sweetwater. In the future, I will never worry about buying a stringed instrument from Sweetwater over the internet. Thanks to Taylor and Sweetwater for doing business the way it should be done! close [-] awesome
