Customer Reviewsfrom Wooster, OH June 8, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist Awesome Stand! This is a great add-on for my On-Stage KS8291 stand. It was fairly easy to assemble and attach to the Keyboard stand. The only issue I have with the 2nd tier is that it doesn't have a way to lock the center bar that slides into the ends to allow for adjustment of how long or short you want the entire length of the 2nd tier to be. If I could lock the position of the bar it wouldn't tend to have both ends of the tier slanting inward which causes the tier to not stay level. I am looking for square tube clamps or locks to place on the edges of the center bar to prevent the adjustment bar from sliding into the ends any further so it will stay level and parallel with my first tier keyboard. This wouldn't be an issue if you use the second tier for a keyboard, but I'm using it for my laptop and mixer for recording. so I have two separate components that kind of slant in towards each other a little. Not a big deal but I think I can find a simple fix for it. Over all a great buy for a great product. I love On-Stage stands and have several other products from them and will always continue to trust On-Stage.Thanks, from Melbourne AUS March 23, 2010 Music Background: Aspiring Producer FantasticReally cool, but you'll need to look at the picture on the box a few times to put it together. Once you've figured it out, it's a great piece of sturdy kit, and will hold whatever you need nice and strong. I've actually got my Maschine drum machine on it, and I can thump away on that thing all day without a care in the world -- it doesn't budge. Great!from January 17, 2012 Music Background: Keyboard, Mainstage 2 (DAWs) Does the job well!I needed something to hold both my laptop and my Axiom 25 because I like to do some complex live mixes of instruments on my DAW setup. There is a misnomer here though as it is 'universal' for the X-style stands. It is not intended for the z-stand that I got with it, although I was able to make it work. You do have to make sure you tightened those bolts well or else it will shift some if you have a keyboard on it you're pounding pretty good. Also if you have it extended closer to its maximum length, you might find it sags a little bit in the center. It's best as medium to shorts length to be completely level. To compensate you can adjust both of the arms out a little closer together so it makes a trapezoid type shape between the stand and the 2nd tier.from soap lake wa August 18, 2010 Music Background: many years in r and r Very nice.. but needed home modVery well built and engineered.Don't count on this working out of the box with your platform stand, there are no open horizontal tubes to hold it. I had to fashion a couple square steel box girders to each end to accept the expandable braces. from FL June 8, 2011 Music Background: Long time hobbyist Worst product I've ever purchased. This is supposed to be universal, but I had to make some wooden shims to get it to work with their own Z-stand.Once mounted, I found that those adjustable screw-down mounts will not screw down to the center cross-extension - it's too small. So, if you use your stand wide, you cant anchor the mounts anywhere except on the end areas. (You can see the smaller cross-beam in the picture) Ok, finally have them mounted. The accuracy of manufacturing is so poor that the arms would not line up to the same height/angle no matter what I did. Any gear I place on them - whether I use just two or all four and place two items - ends up wobbly with a corner sticking up in the air. Truly, a comedy of poor ideas, and poor manufacturing.
