Bock Audio 251 ReviewsSweetwater Advice

What a deal! Finding an original 251 today is nearly impossible and if you actually do find one, you'll most likely pay five-digit figures or more for it. To a collector or to any musician/engineer who won't settle for mediocrity, Bock has answered your dreams - and for a quarter of the price.

The Bock Audio 251 is truly a modern classic, founded in essence on the epitome of classic vintage microphones, the ELAM 251, which is regarded to this day as "The Vintage Microphone" to have - IF you are fortunate enough to even be able to find an original! The 251 delivers a full low end and a present mid with an articulated but open top end response, warm and Full with a majestic brilliance! This is no ordinary microphone. If you are serious about your vocal microphone, this is where the buck
stops! This is an essential microphone for anybody who needs high-end sonic character for their tracks. Not only for vocals! Anywhere where you need a perfect sonic fingerprint of your source! I do not want to record without a Bock ever again! Customer Reviewsfrom Southeast, US USA May 11, 2012Music Background: Pro Musician, Recordist, Songwriter Best Vocal Mic in the world...for me....I've been in music for 30 years. I've used uncountable mics. My voice is male, and somewhat "leonard cohen" like, but I also have a "pretty side" that I bring out with certain songs.THIS mic is the FIRST one ever that captures what I try to do. The bottom end, the warmth, the articulation, the "feeling"---it all comes through with this mic. I was literally in tears listening to the first playback from this thing. It's all I'd hoped for and more. You may ask, is it worth it? The answer is a RESOUNDING "yes". from Tortola British Virgin Islands May 12, 2010Music Background: Recording Engineer,Sound Engineer That Sound I bin Looking For Why So EasyFirst of i like to say i was using a rode NT2A Microphone which work great for vocals but i wanted some thing more high end sounding so i called up sweetwater and talked to my sales rep Austin Moss and ask bout the bock Audio 251 cause i was hearing some many great things about this microphone he told me this microphone will get you that sound your looking for so i went ahead and got this bad boy and am happy to say this microphone really has that big sound airy highs up front mids and that full low end in a vocal i bin looking for i dont know what i do with out my bock audio 251 any one of there thinking about serious vocal quality get a bock audio 251 you wont forget the day you record with it.from Detroit, MI January 16, 2008Music Background: Recording Engineer, Live Sound Engineer, Hobbyist Sweet stuff...Absolutely an amazing mic in every facet. I find myself using it for everything from vox to sax to a room mic. Anything you put through it will immediately pop out of the mix with unreal warmth and character. Granted, I own the Sounddelux version, but if Bock adheres to the same quality manufacturing standards, this mic will become a classic itself |
