From Our Research Team:Peavey 24-channel Mixer with USB and MP3Peavey continues to produce quality gear for studio and stage with the 24FX 24-channel mixer. Peavey introduces its new 24FX mixing consoles with exclusive Silencer mic preamps (.0007% THD), dual digital effects processors and a USB port that provides recording and playback capability via a computer or flash drive. Peavey's 24FX mixer features new, Peavey-exclusive technology to enhance live sound reproduction and project studio recording, including Silencer mic preamps, which allow very high gain with low noise and distortion for crystal-clear signal reproduction. The Silencer is a state-of-the-art, low impedance preamp engineered with selected extremely low noise transistors with a wide dynamic range to accommodate any type of microphone or other low impedance source. The Peavey 24FX also features a USB port that allows streaming of digital audio directly to a computer or flash drive ("memory stick") with built-in MP3 compression. Users can save to a flash drive via USB port A, or use both USB ports (A & B) to send the stereo output to a computer or hard disc for recording. With this feature, sound engineers and musicians can compress a live performance or rehearsal directly in MP3 format, then upload their work to the Internet or produce their own CD recordings instantly. The four pre-fader auxes per channel facilitate monitoring for live sound or recording, while the two post-fader auxes are ideal for adding effects (those built-in or outboard). Peavey's 24FX also includes dual digital effects processors to allow multiple simultaneous effects assignable to any channel via auxiliaries 5 and 6. The many onboard effects include reverb, delay, compression, de-esser, chorus and gate/expander. The Peavey24FX allows editing of effects with a library for each effect. There are two output processors operable in three modes—L/R stereo, L/R mono and L-mains/R-subwoofer with crossover—as well as additional digital processing such as delay, limiter and 1/3 octave graphic or seven-band parametric EQ. Peavey's 24FX mixers also includes three-band EQ with mid sweep, 80 Hz low-cut filters and insert points on all channels; four subgroups with insert points; and headphone output. On Peavey's 24FX, the last two channels have stereo 1/4" and XLR inputs with separate gain controls so a microphone and CD can be used simultaneously without giving up a channel. The stereo input can be assigned directly to the left/right outputs. Peavey 24FX 24-channel Mixer with USB and MP3 Features:

This is a very nice board for the money. Have not experienced the lack of volume adjustment the other reviewer complained of. All volumes adjust evenly for me. I also run 2 Peavey 15" Black Widow 500w wedge monitors pushed by a Peavey PV900 amp. Other auxes go to headphone mixes, a set of voice only monitors, 1 for effects, and 1 for a more "tune-able" output for recording. They board has many configurable functions. 4 Aux channels + 2 Effects/Aux channels. 4 Subgroups. Media in and out. 2 adjustable effects groups. Lots of possibilities in the built in effects (Compressors, Limiters, Reverb, and etc.). I have recorded strait to a usb Jump Drive, but have not used the direct to pc recording. The direct to USB Drive recording was okay but you kinda have to guess on your volume levels. As you cannot hear what you are recording.October 15, 2009 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer, Techinal Director of Church All in all it is a well rounded board. I would buy it again. If i could add something to it. It would be more Aux Channels, but i think that is something everyone always will want more of. close [-] The only mixer you will ever need!!!!!!

This mixer is utterly brilliant!!!! It's so easy to use and is a joy to work with!!!! The effects are brilliant and making your own is easy!!!!!! The fact that it has a built in Feedback Ferret in it ... read more [+]just makes life easier!!! It's only got eight filters, but that's enough for small-scale live sound!!!! It's direct USB recording is just a god-send and whatever you put onto a USB flash drive can be played back through the last channel!!!!! Six auxillery masters make it easy to run large-scale sound and it is also euipped with four sub-groups!!!!! If there is any drawbacks, it would be that the push buttons to select where the chaneels go to (e.g L/R) are really small and doesn't really help during live sound!!! But despite, it is a great mixer for the price!!!! We have just bought one for our school and are now looking for more to buy because they are so good and easy to use!!!! Excellent!!!! close [-]

The controls on this board do not work that well, ie. the faders need to be pushed to near 0 to get any real signal. It does have the flexibility that it describes but the dilemmas in getting good signal outweigh any good this board offers. close [-]
