Grand Auditorium body style gives you exceptional treble zing Taylor's beloved Grand Auditorium body style, featured on the 214ce-N, employs the width and depth of the Dreadnought. But, its waist is narrower, which gives Grand Auditorium bodied acoustic guitars a sleeker look, with more treble zing. The body style also helps to sharpen the definition of each note, making it perfect for both classical and modern fingerstyle techniques. Rosewood laminate provides great tone and exceptional durability If you're looking for a guitar that sounds great and will last a lifetime, the Taylor 214ce-N is a wonderful choice. Not only does the 214ce-N's laminate rosewood body make it one of Taylor's more affordable models, it also makes it more resistant to changes in temperature and humidity than most all-solid-wood models. In fact, many traveling guitarists prefer laminate-bodied acoustics because of their exceptional reliability. Solid Sitka spruce top gives you wonderfully clear and balanced tone To give the 214ce-N full tone and and clear projection, Taylor added a solid Sitka spruce top to its rosewood laminate back and sides. The characteristically open sound of this spruce top really balances the tone of the 214ce-N, making it a wonderful guitar for any style of music you play. Originally wanted the "made in USA" model 414ce-N but it was not readily available. Bought the "made in Mexico" 214ce-N which is basically the same except for laminate vs. solid wood back and sides. T... read more [+]he guitar plays great and the build quality is excellent. I have other Taylor acoustic guitars and this one compares favorably with one exception. Both the satin finish and grain smoothness on the back of the neck is different between the US models and the Mexican models. This was confirmed to me by a Taylor factory representative. The US versions are much superior. I have used a 0000 steelwool on the back of the neck along with bowling alley wax and this has helped a great deal. I would recommend the US version (either 314ce-N or 414ce-n) if this is important to you. The action on the guitar is just as good as the US versions. I would have rated this guitar a 5 if the neck finish were equal to the US made Taylors. close [-]
