From Our Research Team:True Stereo 1176!Finally, a true stereo 1176! With over 2000 units already sold to date since the year 2000 re-birth of Universal Audio's 1176LN, it is clear the public's love affair with the legendary sound of the 1176 is still as passionate as ever. The 2-1176 builds from the circuit design of UA's hugely successful 6176 Channel Strip and combines two 1176 channels from that unit-- an uncompromising design, with all the same components- stereo matched to boot! With the release of the 2-1176, UA once again put that sound into your rack but with twice the tone, twice the character and twice the compression-- at an unbelievable price, and half the space. As you would expect from UA, it also retains all the features and trademark sound of its ancestor, and switches easily between dual mono and stereo link. And yes-it does All-Button! Features:

Reviewsbased on 4 reviewsAwesome box for vocals and percussion

Great sounding compressor. You just don't hear the compression. I usually track with a ratio of 4 - the result is not the same as tracking and then applying a software plugin. Arguably, this box sees more use in my studio than anything else I own. I use it as a channel strip for tracking in addition to regular compression / limiting duties. Then, when I'm done wiht mixdown, I'll run the final out of Logic thru this box and in to a couple of Tube-Tech pultec type EQ's and, voila - instant master - more than good enough for final production. close [-]

I love this thing.February 6, 2013 Music Background: Professional musician. Tech. There were many reviews of this product on gear sites. Some positive some negative . I decided to go for this unit in part because I knew that I could send it b... read more [+]ack if I wasn't pleased. After doing some tracking which consisted of acoustic guitar and vocals I decided to keep the unit and have enjoyed the results. This thing sounds real good. Sorta old school good but good. It won't be my last limiter but I'm not crying. Not even a little bit. I admit to being a UA fetishist , I like the product design from UA. There it is I said it. It has the cool factor going for it. That being said the combination of a 2-610 and a 2-1176 is real easy on the ears. Bass DI sounds huge. Slammin' acoustic guitar , voice over that is so textured you could dunk your self in it. Its lush. I like lush. The only thing you have to fear is the price point ! close [-] Quality Compressor

You can get some tone out of this gear. With digital recording, sometimes a completely transparent compressor is not the answer. However it can do both, be transparent or pump the sound. A tube pre pl... read more [+]us this unit can get rid of that digital edginess. An inexpensive compressor can pump the sound too, but your never 100% satisfied. You always get that squashed processed sound. The 1176 does it more naturally, giving drums/bass that punch and keeping guitars/vocals under control yet defined. You'll use this on every track. close [-]
