Drawmer Blends Tubes and FETs for Quality Compression! Drawmer has a long history with valves (tubes), from Mr. Drawmer's first product, an all-valve keyboard. Being one of the first to combine active tube stages with low noise solid-state electronics gave Drawmer the perfect combination of reliability, low noise, and "more musical" sound quality. Drawmer continues their track record with the introduction of the 1968 Stereo FET Valve Compressor. Drawmer 1968 FET Valve Compressor at a Glance:
A fast, flexible compressor The 1968 is a 1U FET 2-bus compressor with variable tube output stages and several unique features that make it ideal for critical compression. The Drawmer 1968 is only 2 buss compressor that offers speed for tracking and tone across the 2 busses. Using switchable HP filters in the detector stage Drawmer calls "BIG" and user variable tube stages across the outputs, the 1968 remains well behaved even during periods of heavy bass or high compression. The result is solid, predictable compression where others fail, even under a wide variety of circumstances. FET circuits for super-fast capability The 1968 features 2 FET super fast compressors with variable threshold, attack and release. There is a variable output gain control which directly controls the tube output stages and can produce overdrive effects. A switchable BIG control on each channel enables bass heavy inputs and compressed output that doesn't pump. Both dual mono for tracking and true stereo link operation for 2 bus work are provided, as is side chain access and side chain listen capability. VU meters plus LED warning indicators The metering on the has also been expanded to meet the demands of modern tracking and 2 buss requirements. The VU meter can display either gain reduction or output levels while a sophisticated LED warning system has been implemented to warn the user as they approach the maximum operating level. 1968 A quality product from Drawmer Housed in a stainless steel enclosure, everything about the Drawmer 1968 has the legendary Drawmer quality. Selling at this price, it is the most aggressively priced FET compressor on the market today! You can search but you may never find a better compressor at this price!
