Tiny wonder
by Darren O'Neill from Annandale, New Jersey USA, August 2008
Music Background: Music instructor
For young students, ladies who desire a smaller instrument, those who travel frequently...there is simply no finer. The workmanship and quality materials put into this thoughtfully-constructed guitar are superb. The padded gig bag is expertly crafted and very stylish, in addition to being highly protective.
Excellent Travel Guitar
by DW from Wash. State, September 2006
Music Background: former rock& roller now jazz, blues player.
I bought the Wechter 1710 a couple of weeks ago after a very dissapointing experience with the Fender TG-4 travel guitar( It had terrible intonation problems and Fender refused to fix it saying it was within their specs.) Anyway the 1710 was quite a pleasant suprise. The tone is quite good for a guitar of this size and the intonation is set quite reasonably. It comes with good quality strings and sounds good right out of the box. The action is acceptable but I may try to lower it a little. The quality of construction is good, nice gloss finish and everything well fitted and finished off. Also it comes with a really nice well padded gig bag. The only negetive I would give it is that the neck joins the body at the 12th fret. However this was probably a nessesary compromise to keep the size small and is really not a big deal.
