Premium Adirondack spruce top
Ovation knows that the choice of top wood can make or break the sound of an acoustic guitar. For the top-of-the-line 1617ALE-1, Ovation chose a hand-selected Adirondack spruce top. Chosen as much for its look as its tone, solid spruce has a rich, lively sound with excellent projection. And because it's a solid-wood top, the tone will age gracefully, with enhanced harmonics and greater tonal balance as the years go by.

Original Lyrachord body
The Ovation 1617ALE-1 sports the classic Ovation "deep bowl" body style, made from Original Lyrachord. The deep bowl shape maximizes projection and tonality, yet is more comfortable to play than traditional jumbo guitars. Lyrachord is Ovation's trademarked material, comprised of silica fibers and resin for an ultra-durable material that doesn't dampen the 1617ALE-1's tone.
