The E-MU 1616 PCI is an all-in-one digital audio system for PCI-equipped Windows-based computers. From MIDI to audiophile-quality 24-bit/192kHz recording, the 1616 PCI is a great way to get the most out of your computer-based system at any step in the process. The included effects are great for putting a little extra shine on your tracks or adding the finishing touches. The 1616 PCI is comprised of a PCI card and a breakout box with flexible I/O including a pair of mic/line/hi-z inputs, S/PDIF and ADAT digital I/O, and MIDI I/O.

Full-featured Production System
E-MU's 1616 PCI Digital Audio System delivers everything you need to produce audio on a PC with professional results- premium 24-bit/192kHz converters (112dB SNR A/D and D/A), hardware-accelerated effects and mixing, comprehensive sync options and seamless compatibility with your favorite PC audio/sequencer software. The MicroDock breakout box offers a total of 16 inputs and 16 outputs plus 32 channels of MIDI I/O, including two E-MU XTC Class-A ultra-low noise mic/line/hi-Z preamps with 48V phantom power and analog soft limiting circuit for clip protection.
E-DSP Hardware-accelerated Effects, Mixing and Monitoring
E-MU's Digital Audio Systems feature the powerful E-DSP chipset, which features a hardware-accelerated effects processor with over 28 effects plug-ins (over 600 presets). This effects architecture is fully expandable, allowing you to add more effect plug-ins to your system as needed. E-DSP also provides zero-latency, hardware-based mixing and monitoring via the included PatchMix DSP mixer, delivering unmatched flexibility in routing audio between all of your physical and virtual (ASIO/WDM) inputs and outputs- no external mixer needed.

“I have the pcmcia version, but it is essentially the same. The ASIO drivers work great and the Patchmix DSP software works great. Patchmix is very flexible and powerful. it has a wealth of outputs and inputs and is capable of ADAT expansion. I find it to work rather well.
