I have had just about every pedal, dsp amp etc in my 50yrs of playing and have yet to find a better pedal for my accoustics. I first heard this used by Buster Jones in Nashville at a CAA eventseveral ... read more [+]years ago. Than Buster and thom hooked up for a few songs and both had the exciters. I knew at that moment that all my other pedals an dsp effect pedals and amps were just a waste of money. Keep in mind this unit is designed expressly for the accoustic player and thus it's performance is by design not intended to be used with solid bodied axe's although it can be used with them. The accoustic player will notice and immediate improvement over a broad range of tunnings. Those who use drop D and othe tunnings will appreciate the clean tones that you get even in very low notes( Clean low notes are hard to reproduce without a lot of wow and flutter) on accoustics. I use mine mostly with a steel strung Gretsch 6122 Country gentlman and a Nylon strung Godin Sa multiac, and a Crate CA6110dg accoustic amp. I Have used this combo succesfully in large theater settings and it has more than enough power and range to fill the area with clean sound. If you need a pedal that delivers what it says it will for accoustic needs,,,this is the one to buy close [-]

this gadget is amazing... my guitar has a single piezo pickup ....just a wire under the saddle... no 3 band pre amp w/blend,vol,ect..... i honestly thought that this would be a subtle difference or th... read more [+]at it would sound like a chorus ped or some other robotic doubling processor...... man was i surprised.... night and day difference. i could not believe what i was hearing so rich,deep,full,clear no feed back this thing is a must if you want killer tone close [-]

I was really pleased when I connected the 1401 between both active and passive acoustics. I felt the company description was spot on.

With the equipment I use (amp, cables, and guita... read more [+]r), I was able to hear a nice improvement in my lower and middle/upper presentation.

The reason I did not give it a 5 star was due to the units funky battery placement. close [-]

I just got an Acoustic Xciter, and I can hardly wait to try it live. It turned a mushy sounding acoustic into a lively, dynamic instrument. Just when I was beginning to think it was time for a new g... read more [+]uitar, this thing comes along and makes the old one sound amazing. To top it off, it really is two effects in one: Big Bottom & aural exciter. It adds bottom end without increasing the gain and brings out harmonics that I didn't realize my guitar was creating. It's like someone took a blanket off of my amp and moved it out of the closet into the concert hall. Two thumbs up! close [-]
