Audiophile approved!

I've been using the 1231 for almost 2 years now and it is dead quiet, dynamic and clean while providing tremendous flexibility in tailoring the sound in my high end system! Highly recommended

DBX 1231 Review 07/23/2020

I think this DBX 1231 unit is worth every penny of the cost. With 31 bands of EQ, it will work for Live or Studio. I'm no expert on EQ only owning three EQ units in my life, but this unit lives up to the DBX quality and is backed by years of experience. It's a 3U size unit. It's going to take a little more space than some other EQ 19" units. The faders are smooth and solid. There is Balanced and Unbalanced IN/OUT making it versatile. Simple and efficient.

This unit is pro all the way. I would think it's the best EQ in its price range.

DBX 1231

I needed a clean EQ ...PERIOD!!! The dbx 1231 gave me exactly what I needed for my studio. The controls are straightforward and I love the way the 31 1/3 bands are laid out. Huge advantages are the ISO frequency centers, +/- 12 db input gain, and switchable low-cut filters. To take it over the top is the ground lift for quick hum isolation. It’s worth spending the extra money to get the quality you need from an EQ without the extra noise.

Unacceptable levels of hum and hiss

I planned to use dbx 1231 in a stereo system to compensate for frequency response issues due to the room and constraints in speaker placement. Unfortunately the unit adds an unacceptable amount of hum and hiss to the system and I have returned it for a refund. My evaluation was conducted using balanced inputs and outputs.
