I know the analog stages are just as Important as the converters. E-mu did the analog proper ,no haze that is associated with low cost conversion. The clock is also just as Important,very low jitter. You can't beat the sound in this price range or even a good bit more expensive.

If you don't want to worry about latency then this is the product for you. If you want a extremely good sounding mix then this is the product for you. If you want compatibility with almost every DAW on the market then again this is for you. This product just knocked me over by how much better my mixes sounded using this card I was very impressed and that's a understatement. Thanks sweetwater for delivering such great products!!!

To say the least I was very surprised by this product. I basically upgraded to this system just for the need to work at 24 bit versus my older unit which is only 20 bit. Echo Layla. I thought the self powered effects would be nice in a pinch when doing massive mixing jobs but to be honest I am surprised by the quality of the effects. The A/D converters sound great. My first project was a voice over job for a local retail shop. In store promotional stuff and suggestive selling. I was using my C1 in my treated room. Also ran directly through the sound cards parametric eq and compressor. The sound was crisp and clear. I tested it without the effects and it was still great but I was able to set the effects for my needs for this project. This card is pretty powerful. My only hope is that they include a gate as a core effect in there next upgrade. I have several (gates) but it would save me some patchwork if I could do it all digitally after the mic pre. I would truly expect to pay $499 for a card with this much horsepower and clarity. Oh one after thought...I had a question about some of the included software and the tech from E-MU took his time with me and was extremely kind. I would recommend this card to anyone needing 2 channels in and out. The effects and free software are just icing on the cake.
