The E-MU 0404 Digital Audio System relieves your computer of DSP tasks by offering the same hardware acceleration as the rest of E-MU's Digital Audio Systems. The 0404's 32-bit onboard DSP processing (with a 67-bit accumulator) provides all the power you need to mix, monitor and apply effects without hitting the host computer's CPU.

Effects live onboard, too!
The 0404 Digital Audio System includes E-MU's powerful E-DSP chipset, which features a hardware-accelerated effects processor. You get over 20 effects plug-ins, with over 500 presets. You can run up to 16 effects simultaneously! This effects architecture is fully expandable, allowing you to add more effect plug-ins to your system as needed.

Analog and digital I/O to handle any connection
Connecting your synthesizer, a guitar preamp or a digital audio source to the 0404 is easy thanks to E-MU's flexible I/O options. Two 1/4" unbalanced inputs handle any line-level source while the coaxial and optical S/PDIF I/O accepts signals up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. An added bonus: the S/PDIF ports can be switched to AES/EBU for additional connectivity to professional gear!

Hardware mixing equals zero latency
The 0404 solves a problem well-known to software DAW users by handling all mixing and monitoring chores onboard. The E-DSP chipset provides zero-latency, hardware-based mixing and monitoring via the included PatchMix DSP mixer, delivering unmatched flexibility in routing audio between all of your physical and virtual (ASIO 2.0, DirectSound) inputs and outputs - no external mixer is needed. Plus, MIDI I/O means you don't need an additional MIDI interface.
