Plug-ins... just like your computer-based DAW
For years, multitrack digital workstation users have had to stand by and watch as computer-based DAW owners took advantage of the processing power and convenience of plug-ins for sound design, mixing and mastering. Always one step ahead, Roland has developed the VS8F-3, which is a processing card that you can install in your Roland VS-Series multitrack. Each Roland VS8F-3 card can handle up to two plug-ins at a time; so if your Roland workstation can handle more than one card at a time, you might consider adding as many VS8F-3 cards as possible to maximize your processing power.
By purchasing and installing the Roland VS8F-3 board and any available third-party plug-in, you can add many of the same plug-ins that computer-based DAW users have enjoyed for years. Just imagine being able to call up AutoTune from Antares, Universal Audio's LA2A and 1176LN and Massenburg's EQ (plus many more plug-ins NOT available on any other platform) right inside your Roland VS-Series recording workstation. This is the future of personal digital workstations, available today.
Includes five Roland plug-ins
Each VS8F-3 includes five Roland plug-ins that can be installed from a CD-ROM included in the box. Use the Pre-Amp modeling plug-in to warm up any input or track, or improve your vocals your vocals with the Vocal Channel Strip plug-in, which can be inserted into two mono channels simultaneously. The new Temp Mapping Effect plug-in makes it easy to creat tempo-synced delays, while the Mastering Tool Kit plug-in provides all the EQ and dynamics needed for tight, punchy mixes!
Which Roland VS-Series workstation works with the VS8F-3?
If you own a VS-Series multitrack digital workstation, the idea of adding plug-ins has to be one of the most exciting announcements this year! The VS8F-3 is compatible with the newer digital workstations from Roland including the VS-2000CD, VS-2400CD and the VS-2480 series (the VS-2400CD and VS-2480 series requires a CD-ROM update, which Roland includes with the VS8F-3). If you own a slightly older Roland digital workstation, don't fret! Support is planned for the VS-1680, VS-1880 and VS-1824, so look to Sweetwater to keep you updated.
