Yamaha MOTIF XS

Yamaha Motif XS

As a maker of a broad range of acoustic instruments, the preservation of natural sounds has been a long-standing focus of Yamaha keyboards, and they are particularly well known for the deep harmonic richness of their pianos. In keeping with this tradition, the MOTIF XS is built around some truly impressive technology like their Xpanded Articulation Synth engine, which lets you create natural sounding performances with legato and staccato articulations. The MOTIF XS comes with an unprecedented 355MB of WAVE ROM that allows for highly intricate sound reproduction, and details like piano bloom, soundboard resonance, and half-damper pedal effects add a vital layer of realism to Yamaha's already legendary piano tones.

An integrated sampling sequencer and assignable control parameters give you that ability to capture, manipulate and producing sounds in real time with the MOTIF XS. USB, FireWire, Ethernet, and S/PDIF connections offer several ways of interacting with your DAW, allowing for direct access to advanced computer-based processing and opening up limitless opportunities for you to explore your creativity. And a large color graphic LCD user interface makes navigation simple, while tactile controls such as the eight sliders and rotary encoders add a hands-on element to the 16-track sequencer of the MOTIF XS. Exclusively from Sweetwater, the MOTIF XS comes supercharged with our XSpert upgrade bundle — a value-added infusion worth $1,175 including 512MB of RAM, bundled with a set of tutorial DVDs, and a 1GB USB 2.0 flash drive packed full of with samples, loops, and MIDI grooves.
