Kurzweil PC3

Kurzweil PC3X

The immensely powerful synthesis engines in Kurzweil keyboards have been largely responsible for their wild success in such high-demand environments as the theaters of Broadway. By using a combination of highly sophisticated sound generation and expert patch creation, Kurzweil keyboards come stocked with highly realistic, natural sounding orchestral sounds that add an intensely realistic edge to programing ensembles. Their appeal is to an audience ranging from composers who are looking for an extremely competitive sound set, to power users who want to dig into the structure of a every sound and exploit the PC3 series' advanced synthesis functions.

Because of the highly efficient way in which Kurzweil keyboard workstations manage voices and synthesize sounds, conventional statistics like polyphony are of little use for understanding the potential of the PC3 series. While the V.A.S.T sound engine is remarkably powerful, most users find the PC3's sound set and simple capabilities to be more important. The PC3 series keyboard workstations come with Kurzweil's highly acclaimed Triple Strike Pianos, Classic Keys ROM, and two VA-1 oscillators, injecting the system with a massive library of vintage and analog tones beyond the 850 factory presets. The KB3 Mode tone-wheel organ is also included, which accurately simulates the sound generation of a Hammond organ. And an extensive effects engine and unlimited sequencer allow for intricate tone building and creative music arrangement.
