The M3 represents the third generation of Korg's workstation synthesizers that began with the legendary M1 in 1988. It features an elite distillation of the breakthrough technology first seen in the epic (now discontinued) OASYS workstation. Korg's keyboards have been widely recognized for their excellent organs, classic synth sounds, and powerful synthesis engines. The M3 is an excellent example, with its Enhanced Definition Synthesis (EDS) sound generator and second-generation KARMA MIDI phrase technology that redefines the concept of virtual accompaniment and style recognition.
The M3 has also pioneered innovations of its own, such as virtualized hardware for greater DAW integration and the Korg Komponent System, which allows the user to expand the system by mounting another M3 module or a RADIAS-R sound engine. The M3 is well known in the world of workstation synths for its immense sonic capability. It contains 1,028 multisamples, 1,606 drum samples, as well as dual oscillators, all of which can all be combined with controller- or velocity-based parameters for endless sound potential. From deeply resonating solo pianos to full orchestral ensembles, the stylistic synth tones of the '70s and '80s to guitars and woodwinds with impeccable expression, the Korg M3 contains a complete universe of songwriting potential.

Korg's M50 borrows much of its core technology from the flagship OASYS and from the M3. The M50 uses Korg's cutting-edge Extended Definition Synthesis to generate superb sounds and features a touchscreen to make navigation headache free. Its 16-track MIDI sequencer offers an intuitive layout. The M50 employs 256MB of sample ROM loaded with a broad set of samples. The onboard controls, such as the effects joystick and customizable knobs, are simple and convenient to assign, and programming the M50 becomes even easier when you hook it up to a personal computer, where you can access its parameters either through a stand-alone editor/librarian, or in any DAW that supports RTAS, AU, or VST plug-ins. With its wide assortment of sounds and rhythm capabilities, the Korg M50 is well suited as a studio composer's songwriting tool or for laying down hip-hop beats, and its lightweight design makes it a great choice for gigging musicians.
