I released these programs to the public because of the lack of programming done as a whole with the K2000. By this I mean that using the K2000 as a sampler has taken hold over the amount of flexibility and high quality sounds that can be programmed from using just the onboard standard roms. The K2000 stands above all other keyboards. In fact, users of other samplers should see the K2000 as a standard source to sample for themselves! I hope that these sounds spark creativity into your music and give fresh approaches for greater ideas.

NOTE: These Programs use no RAM Samples and will run on any Kurzweil K-series instrument. They are in the Techno, Ambient, and Dance music styles.

The following files are broken down into five different groups. A ZIP file can be found containing all the programs along with links to the individual KRZ files.

There is a readme.txt file that replicates this page.

QA BANK COLLECTIONS 1 through 4:

Complete QA Banksarchive: b_c_qarm.zip ( kb)

These were created to replace Programs 1 through 199 with a particular style of music by loading in new Programs. For instance, if your music is more into "TECHNO & DANCE", then you would load into the machine these new Programs and Quick Access Banks of this style of music.

This makes finding sounds of this particular style easier without having to sift through sounds that aren't relevant. But as always, my idea of "TECHNO & DANCE" sounds may be different than somebody else's so I encourage you to play with the setup till you get it right.

How do I load the sounds?

First make sure that everything you want to keep is SAVED as this will clean out your machine of existing sounds you have loaded into RAM. Now do the following........

1. Press Load, Select File (ie. QAROM2.KRZ)
2. Press OK
3. Move down the menu to Everything then press Overwrt.
4. The screen asks if you want to continue, press "Yes"
5. Asks if you are sure, press "Yes".
6. Now try the Programs and check out the Quick Access Banks.

What are the disadvantages?

It uses a lot of P-RAM that would be used by the sequencer. And, of course, the Setups are no longer correct as they are accessing different Programs than those in the original Factory Presets.

Use these Programs to replace the Factory Programs and QA Banks 1 to 199. Load a QA file as Everything Overwrite. If you do not want to Overwrite your existing Programs or QA Banks, load them to an empty Bank like 200 and up.

LEFTOVERS

The Setups are complete but some of the Programs are "unworked" ideas. The ones that have MIDI in their name lock on to a MIDI Clock Sync (Tempo in Song Page). This is the last of the stuff laying around and are presented "as is". There might not be anything new to some users, but others might find something of use.

COMMENTS

Why give so much away?

I've been asked this question so many times that you are also probably curious as to why all this is given away. Well for starters, how many other Programs and Setups are available for Kurzweil users on the net? Answer: literally NONE!

Well this to begin with absolutely amazes me as such a powerful machine should have a large user base. Other makers of machines have banks on the net but not the Kurzweil. I think the majority of us have been seduced by the Sampling Option and the optional RAM for Samples that we all added. We then lazily just Load in Samples of the lesser quality machines emulating their clever programming techniques. My opinion is that the VAST sound process is being wasted. At this time, I had many Programs that were just collecting dust in my studio. And the opinion I had was that somebody's trash will be somebody's treasure was the reason I passed on so many Programs.
